While reading through Julie Echols' Random Ramblings, she suggested that we take the Belief-o-matic quiz on Beliefnet.
Having taken the quiz, I have confirmed that my views are fully aligned (100%) with the tenets of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon): I must confess I was briefly gripped with a bit of test-taking anxiety: am I really a Mormon?
But here's what's interesting, my views (our Mormon views) match that of Mainline to Conservative Christian/Protestant at 99%, Jehovah's Witnesses at 91%, Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (90%), Orthodox Judaism (88%), Roman Catholic (84%) and Islam (75%).
At a time when we as Mormons want so very much to be understood, it seems appropriate for us to try and understand others.
After all, according to the Belief-o-matic quiz, we've got a whole lot of common ground.
